Our Story

Built by the Parish, for the Parish

The Maufant Youth Project grew out of a simple local question: what is there for young people in the east of the Island once the school day ends? From that question, a volunteer committee, a set of keys to the Centre, and a lot of evenings spent listening to teenagers.

Today we are a registered Jersey charity (No. 340, AJC 505) run by local trustees. We work in partnership with families, schools and parishes — and the Centre is also used by the wider community, from polling days to open days.

In Their Words

What Members & Families Say

It's the one place in the week where I'm not being told what to do. You just turn up, and there's always someone to talk to. I've made my actual best friends here.

What I value most is that the same faces are there every week. My son is autistic and they never made him feel like a problem — they just quietly made room for him.

St Saviour

I started volunteering on a Tuesday because I had a free evening. Three years later it's the best part of my week — and the young people have taught me more than I've taught them.
